If you love Star Wars Cosplay, you will probably be familiar with Adam Savage, who is a master of Cosplaying characters from some of the most beloved franchises. He regularly updates his YouTube channel with his latest projects, one of which features Kylo Ren’s group of dark side warriors, The Knights of Ren.
One of the reasons The Knights of Ren are so popular is because there is so little information about them. We are slowly beginning to see some of their original background coming to light with the sequel movies, but there’s still a whole lot that is unknown about them. This is also why Star Wars Cosplay dedicated to creating The Knights of Ren is so exciting!
The Knights of Ren topic on the Disney Wiki is the right place to start for anyone who isn’t familiar. They were (very briefly) introduced in a “force vision” that Rey had during The Force Awakens, and that was the only chance we had to see them cinematically.

Since then, there have been numerous sources of images from artists all over the internet intrigued by these unknown warriors of the dark side. Who are they? Why are they called “The Knights of Ren?” and why are they loyal to Kylo Ren?
We can make guesses about these things, but we do know that their origin seems to tie-in with Ben Solo’s fall to the dark side during his time spent training to become a Jedi Knight under the tutelage of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker.
Adam Savage’s Knights of Ren Star Wars Cosplay project has been split into several parts and introduced him to prop maker Darrell Maloney who worked with Adam on bringing the Knights of Ren to life with his skills and expertise.
The video clip is fantastic to watch, and it’s simply astounding how detailed Darrell can get when creating the Knights of Ren props for cosplay. The first clip chronicles Adam and Darrell’s journey so far, and we can’t wait to see the rest!
One of the best parts of the video clip is watching Adam take part in the creation of the Knights of Ren costume where we get to see just how much painstaking work went into the production of the costumes. There are Star Wars fans, and then there are Star Wars Cosplay.
A lot of cosplayers really go the extra mile in ways that some fans who don’t partake in cosplaying can never really relate to. It’s great to get the insider view of the process from someone who dedicated so much time and effort into creating these works of art — for the fans and by the fans.
It’s going to be even more exciting seeing The Knights of Ren in the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker releasing in December.
