While the very idea of Rey turning to the Darkside may certainly be debatable, there are apparent similarities between the dark side Rey and a certain female Jedi who also turned to the dark side and wielded a double-sided lightsaber, Bastila Shan.

Her relationship with Revan, who also switched from the light to the dark (as Darth Revan) and then back again to save her might give us a clue as to what may happen in The Rise of Skywalker.

The similarities don’t end there either, both Bastila Shan and Revan shared a powerful Force bond after Bastila saved Revan’s life using the Force. While Rey may not have saved Kylo Ren’s life (perhaps that’s still to come or perhaps Kylo Ren, turning to the light as Ben Solo, saves hers) there is no mistaking that Rey and Kylo Ren are forever bonded in the Force, just like Bastila Shan and Revan were before them.

Even physically, Rey looks a little like Bastila Shan with a similar build, brunette hair and fair skin.

It is also fair to say that the relationship between Rey and Kylo Ren seems just as complex as the relationship between Bastila Shan and Revan.

This all adds a fascinating facet to yet another fan theory about what the final movie will reveal and how the Skywalker saga could end.
