The latest possible leaks for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has one particular group of fans a little on edge. If you’re a fan of the Reylo story arc happening, the latest rumors may not be to your liking.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS ahead. If you are avoiding spoilers for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, please do NOT read any further.

Jason Ward from Making Star Wars has written a post that seems to fall in line with previous possible leaks regarding Rey, Kylo Ren, Palpatine and Matt Smith’s character. The gist of the leak appears to have the Reylo community a little annoyed because it means that the Rey and Kylo Ren romance possibility in the final Skywalker film may not be happening.

Depending on what you read online, the final act of the film has Kylo Ren redeeming himself trying to subdue Matt Smith’s character (who is an unknown dark side acolyte possessed with the spirit of Emperor Palpatine).

It is also worth noting here the leak also confirms this fight is where Kylo Ren and Rey team up together to fight Palpatine. During this struggle, Matt Smith’s character dies, and the spirit of Emperor Palpatine then jumps to Kylo Ren and possesses him.

Kylo Ren manages to subdue Emperor Palpatine’s dark side spirit long enough to become Ben Solo before dying himself, which leaves no room for the Reylo story arc to occur.

I’ve never favored a Reylo story arc happening at all in the Skywalker saga. But that’s just my personal opinion, like any other keen Star Wars fan who’s spent time thinking about it.

I am not an “anti-reylo” supporter either. I prefer not to take any particular side in that argument, but I will say that if there is any weight in the current rumor being legit, I am so on board with it.

I can’t see how a Reylo story arc would fit in with the Skywalker saga. It’s never made any sense to me. That said, I can see why so many fans enjoy it and being a massive supporter of Star Wars fan art, I can appreciate the idea of a Reylo romance.

So what do you think about the latest spoilers? Are you a Reylo supporter and unhappy about the most recent possible “leak” revealed online? Disagree with my post or have a differing opinion? Let me know in the comments
