Star Wars cover reveal: The Rise of Kylo Ren comic cover is here!
One of the most aniticipated Star Wars comics as of late had the cover revealed. It’s glorious and every thing we need it to be.
The Rise of Kylo comic is probably the most excited I’ve seen the collective Star Wars fans over something from that medium in a while. There are a legion of devoted comic fans, but this one feels a bit different.
The comics have given us good stories and interesting tidbits that continue to shape the picture of characters. But The Rise of Kylo intends to give us a backstory that we have wanted to know ever since we learned Kylo was Ben Solo.
How could the son of Princess Leia and Han Solo turn to the Dark Side? We’ll find out soon.
The cover reveal for the first issue is just so good too. Here’s a look:

Vader was always going to play a role. The Vader mask played a small yet important role in The Force Awakens. Kylo used it as a way to connect to the Dark Side. Since Vader was also his grandfather, it was a way to also stay connected to family.
While Kylo killed his father, family and Rey have been the only things that we have seen that has made Kylo waver. He couldn’t shoot his mother when he had the chance to take her down — which we all breathed a huge sigh of relief only for her to get blasted into space a few moments later.

Plus, there is his connection with Rey, a person who seems to be the other side of the coin in their struggles.
In the Age of Resistance: Supreme Leader Snoke comic, Kylo’s biggest fear was his family. He was afraid he would be tasked with having to kill them and managed to fool Snoke into thinking he could destroy the vision without actually doing it.
That connection to his family is an important one. Whether it’s running from his uncle, a man he was to trust, or reaching out to his grandfather beyond the pale, Kylo needs those connections. He needs those bonds to feel … something.
The Rise of Kylo Ren will be a fascinating read that will have fans dissecting and poring over every panel.
The Rise of Kylo Ren hits comic shops on December 18.
