Who knew one tiny roller droid could cause so much trouble? Yes, BB-8 managed to cause problem in The Last Jedi, but he was more of a distraction.
In this case, MB-13 wasn’t looking to distract Kaz and Torra, but incapicitate them. Its nimble body allowed it to move around quickly and wreak havoc. It also took advantage of the darkness to surprise its enemeies.
It nearly got close to sending out a message to the First Order to reveal the location of the Colossus, but luckily Kaz was able to stop it before the message completed. Kaz fought the droid off and sent it out into space.
Yet, what happens if someone finds that droid? It won’t die in outer space, right? That’s always a danger. At least, the Colossus is safe for now.
The droid also had a broken lens receptor, so it couldn’t see well. Now imagine what it could have done it was fully functional? It took out CB-23 and Neeku. It nearly got Kaz and Torra too.
The First Order knows how to build them.
