October 21 was Carrie Fisher’s birthday — the same day the trailer came out. She would have been 63 on Monday.
Seeing her every so briefly in the trailer was tough especially after it came right after the moment with C-3PO, but even more so was how the trailer ended.
Rey stood seemingly in front of Palpatine with her blue lightsaber glowing, lighting up the side of her face. Luke Skywalker spoke over the scene “The Force is with you …”
“Always.”
Leia ended it with those words.
It was the perfect ending to the trailer. A reminder that no one is ever truly gone. They will remain with us especially when needed.
