9. Anakin Skywalker and Count Dooku/Yoda and Count Dooku

This rivalry was three-fold during Episode II. Though Anakin and Obi-Wan were still oblivious to Count Dooku’s dealings with Palpatine, they did find out that he was responsible for putting a hit out on Padme. Dooku is the second apprentice of Darth Sidious and worked to bring down the Jedi Knights through a secessionist movement against the Republic.

As the Clone Wars continue to rage outside in the desert, Obi-Wan and Anakin find Dooku in a nearby cave where the three draw sabers and engage in battle. Well, actually, Anakin charges at Dooku against Obi-Wan’s instructions and before the Jedi can even draw his sword, Dooku electrocutes him unconscious. Then it’s Obi-Wan to the rescue.

Obi-Wan is injured in battle as Anakin watches, barely able to move. It’s the Darth Maul battle all over again. Anakin jumps to Obi-Wan’s rescue wielding both his and his Master’s sabers. But, Dooku still manages to slice off Anakin’s arm, a pinnacle moment for the Jedi and a trait he and Luke would share together.

In the end, Master Yoda comes to Anakin and Obi-Wan’s aid, flipping and flying all over the dang place, along with absorbing Count Dooku’s electric death waves one-handed. Unfortunately, Dooku escapes but Yoda succeeds in saving Obi-Wan and Anakin.
