Kaz, Kel and Eila find a Sith temple while looking for supplies. They encounter a powerful Sith relic and a mysterious stranger on Star Wars Resistance.

From the start of this week’s episode of Star Wars Resistance, it felt as though something more was at play than just a typical supply run. As Kaz planned to go to a new planet, Kel and Eila asked if they could join him.

They weren’t supposed to be going, but Kaz is a sucker and their big doughy eyes got the better of him.

Even when they were planet side, Eila, who seems sensitive to the Force, was being led by something powerful. She kept following her instincts, and a beautiful butterfly looking creature, to a former Jedi temple. Yet in the middle of that temple was a resurrected Sith temple.

Kaz, Kel and Eila heard someone yelling for help from inside the Sith temple. They went to investigate – and got separated – but Kaz found the source.

The older woman who was not too happy to find Kaz. She pegged him right from the moment she saw him, someone who talks a lot without actually knowing anything. Sadly, that sounds about right.

Her name is Mika Grey. She’s a relic hunter looking for Sith relics. Not because she presumably wants to use but she is trying to keep them out of the hands of the First Order.

While on the planet, the First Order arrived looking for Mika. It turns out Supreme Leader Snoke has a group of stormtroopers whose sole purpose is to find Sith relics. This particular one held enormous power that disintegrated those around it.

Editor’s note: It turns out the relic was for Kylo Ren. I didn’t think we were up to the point in the story where Snoke was dead and it was widely known. The details were in the Bucket’s List article on StarWars.com.

In order to get away from the First Order, Mika used it to save Kaz, Torra and the other members of the team. She was not happy about having to use it, but the key is she chose to save their lives rather than off protecting herself and the relic.

Ger ship had been destroyed by the First Order when they got to the planet so for now she is also hitching a ride on the Colossus. I wonder what other relics she has in hiding and if they would be able to help the Resistance.

While Mika is not a Jedi or Sith, she understands the Force, more so than anyone else on the show has so far (other than the cameo by General Leia).

More from Star Wars Resistance

It seems Mika may be around for awhile and could be helpful to Eila who doesn’t have anyone to explain the Force to her. Though it seems the child does understand she is in tune to the Force differently than others.

Interestingly, Kaz didn’t actually believe in the Force. It seems that as powerful as the Jedi and Sith once were, they are more like fairy tales to the current generation.

Given that there was such a focus on the Sith relics and the writers made it a point to discuss Snoke’s relic hunters, it will be interesting to see how that manifests in The Rise of Skywalker. Will we see any of Snoke’s relics, which probably belong to Kylo Ren now?

And what else have they possibly found?

Star Wars Resistance airs on Disney XD Sundays at 6 p.m. ET.
