Mon Calamari

At first glance, the species of “It’s a Trap!” himself Admiral Ackbar wouldn’t be cute in any form. With their fish-like appearance, wet-looking mouth, and turkey gobbler of a neck, they are not the most aesthetically pleasing looking species. Factor in their garbled way of speaking and saggy skinned fin-like hands, and they are kind of the things nightmares are made out of.

There was something about Admiral Ackbar though that made one not look at him in horror. Maybe it was his quiet confidence or wise demeanor, but he led the Rebel fleet in the Battle of Endor with dignity and grace that transcended his appearance. Instead of seeing a red fish-like creature, Star Wars fans just saw a leader, and one they had complete trust in.

All that being said, a baby version of a Mon Calamari could be quite cute. You put those big fish eyes on a smaller round head and smooth out that turkey neck, and you got yourself a cute little bugger.

The “Baby Ackbar” as he’d be known across the internet, would make every fan swoon if he muttered the words “It’s a Twap!” in baby talk.

The only downside of a Baby Ackbar was that unlike Baby Yoda, it wouldn’t be much use to the Mandalorian. Baby Ackbar couldn’t use the force and save the Mandalorian as Baby Yoda could.  He’d also likely need to be in water or near it, and would probably be an asset the Mandalorian would quickly return to the folks who hired him for the job.
