What would Darth Vader really think of Kylo Ren?

Knowing what we know about Darth Vader and what we’ve learned about Kylo Ren so far in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, what do you think Darth Vader would have thought of his grandson?

Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith, idolised by his grandson, would probably be a little proud of how far Kylo Ren has come. Keep in mind: We are talking about Darth Vader, not Anakin Skywalker (even though they are the same person, we’ll just pretend for the sake of this Star Wars article that they’re not).

The successor to Supreme Leader Snoke, Ren is now one of the most powerful men in the Galaxy. This is something Darth Vader strived to achieve when he first reached out to Luke all those years ago, begging Luke to join him at his side to rule as father and son.

More from Darth Vader

And we all know how that went.

This video clip is one fan’s perspective of how Darth Vader and Kylo Ren may have met in an alternate reality. It’s actually pretty good and it’s interesting to see how Darth Vader reacts when he sees his grandson in the flesh. But there is no denying the power of the Sith in this exchange.

Kylo Ren may be powerful, but he is less than a match for the dark side of the force as yielded by his grandfather. It’s pretty clear, at least in this fan’s mind, that Darth Vader reigns supreme.

So if Darth Vader ever did come face to face with his grandson, do you think he’d kill him? Do you think he’d even want to?

I would say that Darth Vader’s experience would guide him well in making that decision. I think Kylo Ren would be in awe of the fact that he’s seeing his grandfather in the flesh. I don’t actually think it would start out as a fight, but it could very well end with one.

The dark side, after all, is a cruel mistress and nobody knows that better than Darth Vader. But I also think their similarities could bond them still, even in the dark side of the force.

Speaking of Anakin however, it would be more than amazing to see Anakin Skywalker in the same film as his grandson, Kylo Ren (or would that be Ben Solo?) Of course, Anakin wouldn’t be trying to kill his grandson — quite the opposite.

To see Hayden Christensen don the Jedi robes once more would be an actual dream come true for this Star Wars fan, And to see both Anakin and Ben Solo even in the smallest scene in Episode IX would truly be the ending of all endings for the Skywalker Saga.
