With Lando Calrissian coming back for The Rise of Skywalker, I’m a little worried for his future. Lando is a beloved character who made some tough choices that led to a number of problems. However, he tried to make.

Lando’s return seems like a great move for long time fans, but also one where the writers could bring back a beloved character to kill him off in a great spectacle without great stakes.

He’s older. He’s lived his life. Dying in the heat of battle to fight for the glorious galaxy (while potentially taking the Millennium Falcon with him) seems like something Lando would do.

Lando has loved and lost and loved some more.

His death would be a blow but one that Star Wars fans would survive, which makes it feel like a low stakes death sort of like Admiral Ackbar’s death in The Last Jedi.
