The Rise of Skywalker: What the TV spots aren’t showing us

We haven’t gotten much of Lando in the TV spots for The Rise of Skywalker. The only new shot is a side view of the same laugh we get in the main trailer of the movie. So at this point, his role in the film is a complete unknown.

There could be a couple of reasons for this. One is that like Zorii Bliss, perhaps Lando’s role in the film isn’t that large. There were rumors that his time in the film would be brief so maybe he just has a glorified cameo.

The only thing that contradicts it is that he’s shown flying the Millenium Falcon.

Unless Rey is just letting him take out his old ship for one fun run before things get serious in the film, there is no reason for him to be flying it. Unless of course, they need him to.

This would give Lando a more significant role in the film, and one where his presence is actually needed. Again, with the little exposure he’s gotten in the TV spots, we won’t know the extent the “Old Smoothie” is going to have in the final chapter until it opens in theaters.
