Sometimes the best Walt Disney World souvenir comes in the form of a pin. After searching through stores and pin stations I came across several Star Wars pins worth talking about.

Walt Disney World is in no short supply of Star Wars merchandise. From outfits, toys, collector’s items and even pins.

Several months ago I wrote about the Star Wars Disney pins you can find on the shopDisney website.  But this time I wanted to write about the pins I saw in person.

On my recent trip to Walt Disney World I observed the large variety of pins over the course of four theme parks and Disney Springs. Pin trading is very popular with pin trading opportunities in multiple locations.

I noticed the abundance of pin lanyards for sale. Some lanyards already came pins usually centered around a theme such as Disney princesses or Star Wars.

Will you find every Disney character? Unfortunately not. After I saw a few pin trading stations and pin sections at stores I noticed some repeats with a few exceptions.

Out of all the Star Wars pins I came across I chose the following ten to talk about. These pins are listed in no particular order and these opinions are mine alone.

1. Pew Pew Stormtrooper

Isn’t he adorable? I couldn’t resist an audible “aw” upon seeing this pin because when anything is miniature it’s automatically adorable. The joke that stormtroopers have terrible aim still lives on. The blatantly obvious “pew pew” flag at the end of the blaster was a nice touch. Keep trying little guy, one day you will hit your target.

2. Mine Will You Be

The perfect pin to celebrate love! This pin stood out amongst the rest purely for the different card stock background. While nearly every pin on a wall or turning table was pressed into a white card stock background, this pin was surrounded by white, pink and red. The card stock background repeats the phrase ‘I Heart Star Wars’ with the symbols of the Empire and Rebellion. Yoda looks so cute, using the Force with one hand in an epic stance. Is he using the Force to send you that heart with the ultimate Valentine’s Day question or are you, in fact, the one asking if Yoda will be your Valentine? We may never know.

3. Floral Darth Vader helmet

When I first saw this pin I had thought it was one of the beautiful sugar skull patterned ones that I have seen in the past. This pin takes a classic Darth Vader helmet and adds some red floral/vintage applique. The bold red floral/vintage applique gives the pin a slight feminine touch and stylish look. It gives the Star Wars villain a look that can work with a dress shirt, blouse, or even a crossbody bag.

4. Join The Resistance BB-8

BB-8 wants you to Join the Resistance. The adorable droid who won the hearts of fans in The Force Awakens looks bold in his classic white and orange colors over a maroon background. The fun part is that his body turns in a circular motion making it perfect for interactive fun wherever you go.

5. I Love You, I Know

Just like the Mine You Will Be pin, the side profiles of Han Solo and Princess Leia rest in front of the white, pink and red card stock background. Princess Leia appears concerned, in her white Hoth outfit from The Empire Strikes Back, speaking the truth “I love you” in the classic cartoon speech bubble. Han Solo is sporting his cunning smile, donned in his black jacket as he responds, “I know” in the cartoon speech bubble. While their designs aren’t completely accurate to those from the film scene when these lines were exchanged, these are the perfect pins for sweethearts. When aligned these two pins can face each other.

6. R2-D2 and Porgs

You thought Chewbacca had it tough. Seems porgs like droids too. For this pin R2-D2 has one porg standing on top of him and another next to him. The pin design looks very realistic to their film counterparts. The reason I added this pin to my list is that usually, we pair porgs with Chewbacca. But seeing my favorite droid hanging out with these cuddly creatures is just too cute to not include. I wonder who the porgs like better?

7. Christmas Porg

Ready for Christmas? Now you can be with this adorable porg holiday pin. How can you not smile at this porg? He’s wearing a red Santa hat and holding a string of Christmas lights in red, green and yellow colors. It’s a simple yet effective pin design for the season. I absolutely love the red and white snowflake card stock background with The Empire symbol scattered throughout. Add this pin to yours or a friend’s stocking for some holiday cheer.

8. Up too Snow Good Stormtrooper Snowman

Where do I begin describing this pin? This is a festive pin, just in time for the holidays. This pin combines the body of a snowman with the head of a stormtrooper. The stormtrooper snowman wears a red Santa hat and green scarf complete with two stick arms and the phrase “Up too Snow Good” across the body. This was probably the oddest Star Wars pin I found. It’s a conversation starter at any holiday party for sure.

9. Open Edition Loyalty Chewbacca

I came across an entire pin station of Open Edition Star Wars pins at Galaxy’s Edge. When looking at the pins you can never go wrong with the Millennium Falcon co-pilot Chewbacca. The pin is just his furry head with the word Loyalty. That word immediately resonated with me as we have seen Star Wars characters come and go but the bonds that were made never break. Chewbacca never lost sight of the friendship he had with Han Solo. As we approach the last film, he remains loyal to his friends and the Resistance.

10. Open Edition Stand Strong Leia

Last but not least we have our Princess and General Leia. The silhouette of Princess Leia with the blaster in one hand and the other on her hip stands next to the solar map from A New Hope. The pose reminds fans of her strength and perseverance. The solar map reminds fans of the nail-biting moment Luke was able to destroy the Death Star just as the rebels were in range of the superlaser. With just one pin, Leia’s personality and role in the first Star Wars film are represented. I’m impressed.

That was my list of ten Star Wars pins from Walt Disney World. Remember to keep your eyes open for these and other unique Star Wars pins while visiting the parks and don’t forget to check shopDisney for pins you may have missed.

Next. The Mandalorian: Episode 4 could’ve benefited from a longer runtime. dark
