Star Wars: 9 Bold Predictions for The Rise of Skywalker
By Nik Edlund
Threepio’s memory is restored at end of film
There were rumors prior to the release of the trailer for The Rise of Skywalker Threepio may be getting his memory wiped. The trailer all but confirmed that with his famous and forboding line about seeing his friends for one last time.
It’s unclear why C-3PO needs his memory wiped but it appears he becomes some sort of battle droid. That’ll be a fun part to watch in The Rise of Skywalker but it won’t last. I’m going to say by the end of the film, they will figure out a way to restore everyone’s favorite protocol droid’s memory.
Zorii Bliss’ role is very small
Zorii Bliss is the new cool looking and mysterious character in the latest chapter of the Star Wars saga. Her look is great and role unknown and there is precedent when it comes to these types of characters in Star Wars films.
Their roles are always very small.
The first was Boba Fett, with a cool helmet and awesome looking ship, he was a fan favorite after his brief appearance in The Empire Strikes Back. Fans were excited to see his role in Return of the Jedi, but all he did was get accidentally killed by Han Solo after about a minute of screen time.
In the Sequel Trilogy, it was Captain Phasma. She was a chrome looking stormtrooper with a cape and staff. Being played by Game of Thrones alum, Gwendoline Christie, many assumed she’d have a big role in the film.
She didn’t have much to do in The Force Awakens and appeared to have died in the end. She was brought back for The Last Jedi, but her screen time was basically just one fight with Finn that lead to her death.
I’m going to say Bliss’ role is very similar to Fett’s and Phasma’s. She’ll be on the screen while the gang is on Kijimi and after she helps them out, her brief time in the movie will be over.
