The fandom rose to No. 3 on the overall list and second in the movie category only behind Marvel.
The franchise had an incredible year and it’s not done yet. But let’s look at all the ways Star Wars was able to crack the top three in all fandoms.
Disney+
Disney+ is a great streaming service that has so many of Disney’s movies, including most of the Star Wars movies and animated series. This gave fans a chance to relive their childhoods and teen years and everything else as they got to watch all the movies once again.
It also exposed fans to characters such as Ahsoka Tano or Ezra Bridger if they hadn’t watched the animated series before.
The Mandalorian
Speaking of Disney+, The Mandalorian is the first live-action Star Wars show and it hasn’t disappointed yet.
Especially now with Baby Yoda. Although I wonder if the rankings were done again if Baby Yoda wouldn’t have put the franchise over the top — and even got his own category.
The series has brought so much excitement for fans, it’s hard to miss it.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
The video game was anticipated for quite some time because fans have been clamoring for a good RPG-type game. They got it. Jedi: Fallen Order was everything fans had hoped for and even more.
It brought us the little cutie of BD-1, a new exciting droid to hug.
The Rise of Kylo Ren
Here’s a comic that everyone is going to want to grab. It’s a miniseries that released today featuring the backstory on how Ben Solo became Kylo Ren.
The Rise of Skywalker
Of course, this list wouldnt be complete with The Rise of Skywalker, the final movie in the Skywalker Saga.
And it’s not even out yet! Technically, the movie releases on December 20 — but there are many who have tickets early.
This list doesn’t even dive into the other comics and wonderful books that came out this year. What was your favorite Star Wars moment so far?
