Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker: 3 characters who stole the show
By Josh Sippie
Anthony Daniels is C-3PO in STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER
Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker featured just about everyone and everything ever associated with the story and some new characters to boot. Through it all, here are three relatively minor characters who stole the show.
As with most people who have seen Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker, the more I think about it, the more I appreciate what they were able to do. No, it wasn’t perfect, no one is saying that. But they did what they had to do with some surprises woven in as well.
Speaking of surprises, there were some who stood out from the rest, capturing the audience any time they were on the screen. And these aren’t big characters either, though played a vital role to the final rebellion that wouldn’t have been possible without their contributions
Of course, this doesn’t include Rey or Kylo Ren or Finn. They are the show, so they can’t steal it. These three characters that didn’t feature prominently, or haven’t in the past, but rose to the occasion of the final installment and absolutely crushed it.
If you’ve read my recent writing here at Dork Side lately, you probably know who No. 1 is, but that’s okay, because we still have to go through No. 2 and 3 to get there.
3. Babu Frik
Where has this guy been all my life? From the moment he stepped onto the screen, he was the center of attention. What could go wrong when you put the voice of Moaning Myrtle behind an eight-inch tall alien with a welding mask and whiskers? Absolutely nothing.
Not only was he tremendously entertaining, not only was every word he said immediately hilarious, but Babu Frik was a low-key genius as well, and without his contribution to the cause, the adventure would have had to take a much different turn.
But it didn’t. Because Babu Frik was on the case.
I also just wanted to let everyone know that there are Babu Frik t-shirts available (that I just Googled and subsequently ordered). Because I think we all need to show support for this little guy and his engineering future. Long live Babu Frik.
