4. Tusken Raiders

Few alien races have captured audiences with so few words (as in none) as the Tusken Raiders. They have made a living being jackasses throughout the course of the Star Wars story. They kill women and children, they take uncontested pot-shots at pod-racers, they look just as wicked as they act, but through it all, they still have enough common sense to run away from Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Fair play, that.

Being one of the most popular and militant races out there, as well as one of the most curious, they are perfectly set up for a hero, or anti-hero. Plus, they may be the only race that I would advocate for having a film completely in their native language. I can’t get enough of their honking voices.

There are instances throughout the Star Wars story-telling multiverse of Jedi and others living in Tusken society, and how interesting would that be? They are painted as clear and unbridled villains throughout the course of whichever Star Wars story you’re on, so who better to have a hero emerge from?
