3. Neimodians

You may have noticed me disqualifying a lot of the prequel alien races in the opening paragraph. Gungans? Dugs? I’ve had enough. We’ve got Jar-Jar and Sebulba and I’m just fine with neither of them. But Neimodians? There’s something intriguing about a race of cowardly politicians. And without wanting to make this too political, it rings true of a lot of the present day in the real world.

Give me the Neimodian with a spine, who isn’t afraid to roll up his sleeves and clean things up. This is a race that looks cowardly, so it would be an immediate pull to a character who doesn’t exhibit the same downfalls. Or, if he does, is actively trying to overcome them.

I always find my interest piqued by an alien species that appears so one-dimensional. Neimodians are textbook cowards. That’s all they’ve ever been portrayed as. Which is why they’re due for a good ol’ fashion revolution. A toadish Thomas Jefferson to right the Neimodian species.
