2. Hutts

If you go back and look at the history of the Hutts, you’ll see a much different picture than what we see with Jabba, slogging around like the giant slug that the is. There are countless discussion boards out there, asking “how did the Hutts gain power?”

The logic is, they’re so immobile, they’re slow, lazy, often sleeping, and without manipulation, they have zero capabilities. And manipulation can only go so far when there are thermal detonators involved.

But way back when, the Hutts were warriors. They had actual armor and weapons and this helped them gain the power that they now cling to.

How about a Hutts: Origins story? A more accessible exploration of how a race of giant, corrupt slugs took control of the criminal enterprises of the entire galaxy. They’re the mafia, essentially, but with the actual mafia, you can see clear as day how someone like Al Capone would take power. Not so much with the Hutts.
