2. Mon Mothma

This one probably makes the most sense, even if it’s not the most exciting. It’s all a product of the times. The Empire is still scrambling, but the New Republic has been established and Mon Mothma presides over that Republic.

We didn’t get a ton of world building in the first season of the Mandalorian because, in typical Western format, the law don’t reach out here. They’re primarily in the outer reaches, removed from the New Republic.

But if Din Djarin is going to find Baby Yoda’s home, it’s time for them to get more into the state of the galaxy at the time of all of this. That will undoubtedly include some New Republic sightings, and that’s Mothma’s domain.

It doesn’t seem plausible that Djarin has any sort of direct interaction with her in The Mandalorian, but hey, Cara Dune is still here, she still has connections to the New Republic, and among all the other characters on this list, Mothma would be the one furthest removed from a fan service, even if it isn’t all that exciting.
