Everyone’s clamoring for Boba Fett, since he’s a Mandalorian too, but I couldn’t care less. Boba had his screen time and he died with it. I want to see Bossk. The tremendously underused Trandoshan bounty hunter who had a relatively big part to play in the Clone Wars series and in various other stories outside of the Skywalker movie saga.
Even still, Bossk is an established character in the Skywalker saga because of lore alone. He makes appearances at Jabba’s palace, and there is speculation over whether he died on Jabba’s barge, but the consensus seems to skew towards him not dying.
If ever there was a time to reintroduce Bossk to the Star Wars universe, this would be a great one. The remnants of the Empire no doubt want to hunt down Din Djarin and get back the Child, so why wouldn’t they turn to an established bounty hunter like Bossk to do the job? Especially considering how they won’t be using Greef Karga’s bounty hunters anymore.
The opportunity is there. And of all the characters that maybe you’d want to shy away from to not move The Mandalorian too close to the Skywalker saga, Bossk is a good choice.
