Baby Yoda melted our hearts from the moment we laid our eyes on him, but what if he falls in the wrong hands during the second season of The Mandalorian?
The Mandalorian’s loveable green rascal Baby Yoda has become a worldwide phenomenon, melting our hearts and making us fall in love with him from the moment he appeared on our screens, but what if things don’t go the way we think, and the impressionable child succumbs to the Dark Side?
Little is known about The Child, or Baby Yoda as the world knows him more familiarly as. He’s the same species as Jedi Master Yoda, he’s Force sensitive, and he’s a highly valuable asset. So far, he’s helped Din Djarin defeat a Mudhorn, healed Greef Karga after an attack by flying creatures on Nevarro, and stopped the Flametrooper from burning the Mandalorian inside the catina, but he’s still young as far as his species goes, and that means he’s still learning what’s right and what’s wrong.

When he uses the Force to choke Cara Dune, it’s perceived he’s helping Din Djarin because Baby Yoda thinks she’s hurting him. It’s a simple mistake through the eyes of a child, but when that child has incredible powers he’s yet to understand, actions like this could lead to something far worse.
Season 2 of The Mandalorian will most likely lead to us finding out more about his origins, and we may even learn exactly what species he is, but what if he doesn’t find his family or his kind? In recent movies, the Force has been shown to be everywhere — that Jedi and Sith aren’t the only ones who can harness it — but at this point in the Star Wars timeline, Baby Yoda is somewhat of an anomaly.
Moff Gideon arrived on Nevarro and posed a great threat to Din Djarin, and almost ended up in possession of The Child. Knowing Gideon is still alive and in possession of the Darksaber, he’s even deadlier than we first thought. The Darksaber has ties to the force, specifically Tarre Vizsla. Vizsla was the first Mandalorian to become a Jedi who also created the Darksaber. Now that Gideon has it, there’s no telling what this means for Din Djarin or The Child.
If Moff Gideon does manage to get his hands on Baby Yoda, it could lead the cute green alien down a dark path. Training him in the ways of the Empire — of the Dark Side — could turn him into a very dangerous being. Whilst the Sith are seemingly no more at this point, it doesn’t mean that the dark side of the Force is non-existent. We still don’t know what Werner Herzog’s “the Client” and Doctor Pershing wanted with Baby Yoda, but whatever it was it wasn’t good.
They were affiliated with the Empire, so they know things about the Child that nobody does. The future for Din Djarin certainly isn’t as bright as we thought, especially as they know nothing of Moff Gideon’s survival. Only time will tell what the fate of Baby Yoda is, but if he falls into the wrong hands, it could spell trouble for both the Madalorian and the entire Galaxy.
