Unkar Plutt

Unkar Plutt is great for many reasons. First of all, he has a very unique look. He’s got this smooshed in face with a large proboscis-like nose. He is basically built like a square and lacks any semblance of a neck. Plutt is voiced by actor Simon Pegg who gives him a snarly, and gravely voice. He even has his own catchphrase “One quarter-portion” when he gives food for parts the scavengers of Jakku bring to him.

Unkar is also extremely cool because when we meet him in The Force Awakens, he is in possession of the Millennium Falcon. This crazy member of the Crolute species was ballsy enough to steal one of the most famous ships in the galaxy and just keeps it on his grounds partially covered by a dirty tarp.

He is even a little complex. Rey was put in Plutt’s care when she was brought to Jakku. The creepy parts dealer could have just let her die, or make her his slave, but he allowed her to live and likely even gave her food portions even if the scrap she brought to him wasn’t worth it. So he does have a soft side, even though he was quick to turn on Rey when she wouldn’t sell him BB-8. Unkar Plutt’s time in the Sequel Trilogy was brief, but it was definitely memorable.
