Animated Series

With Disney+ being a huge success and The Mandalorian being a big part of that, Disney will continue to look to create many Star Wars series in the future. After ten years or so, maybe the well of ideas could go dry and then they could start looking to alternate timeline types of shows. They are already doing a “What If?” series with Marvel so, why couldn’t they do the same with Star Wars? If they did a “What If the Sequel Trilogy was created by Geroge Lucas?” series it would garner a ton of interest from fans and would be a surefire hit for the company.

If they did this, having it be animated would be the best way to go. It would cut down costs, and special effects, and allow it to be made at a much quicker pace. There wouldn’t need to be any requirement to have previous actors voice these characters. If any were still living, they could certainly have them come back if they wanted, but all new voices could be used.

It would also allow fans who didn’t like the original Sequel Trilogy to embrace this animated version as canon. Fans who did enjoy the original sequels could still satisfy their curiosity as to what George Lucas would’ve done with the story, but embrace the originals as their true version of what happened to Luke, Han, and Leia in the future.
