Following last week’s episode, I had a thought that Star Wars Resistance reminded me of Claudia Gray’s novel Lost Stars, without the love story.

Here are two friends fighting on two sides of a war. The one on the side of the Empire/First Order realizes just how terrible they are and their convictions aren’t enough to keep them there. While Ciena (in Lost Stars) was ready to go down with the ship, the realization that the Empire/First Order isn’t what it promised to be is so similar.

It’s interesting to watch them come to that decision on their own. In the case of Tam, she’s been slowly realizing it. The First Order manipulated her by giving her the support and mentorships she craved. They told her enough of the truth to make her feel as though she was important to them.

But she realized she is expendable and the First Order doesn’t care for people.

So, hopefully, Tam’s rescue will come swift and not too be too tough for Kaz and Yeager. Probably not.

Here’s the synopsis for this week’s hour-long episode:

"Kaz and Yeager attempt to rescue Tam from the First Order while trying to evade capture on a Star Destroyer. Meanwhile, the Colossus is in trouble and faces an impossible choice."
