Star Wars Resistance is about heart and family, both of which stood out in the series finale.

Star Wars Resistance was only with us for two seasons and the episodes got better and better as time went on. The series finale aired on Sunday ending pretty closely to how you would have imagined.

If you haven’t watched yet, turn back because there are spoilers ahead.

More from Star Wars Resistance

Tam finally came to her senses and got in touch with the Colossus for a rescue. Kaz and Yeager met Tam where it all started, on Castellon. They nearly got away too, but Commander Pyre and Agent Tierney managed to capture them.

Rucklin gave the Colossus up and even though Kaz warned them to leave, they didn’t. Once the denizens of the Colossus saw Kaz and Yeager putting their life on the line for Tam, dodging blaster bolts, they realized the family had to stick by each other.

It all reinforced a huge theme in Star Wars – the chosen family.

When the Colossus was boarded by several Stormtroopers, it was fantastic seeing all the different characters that have made the Colossus home fighting for each other. Whether they were good fighters like Synara or untrained brawlers, they had each other’s back.

Kaz and Yeager have blood relatives, but throughout the course of the two seasons, they didn’t have good relationships with them. It seems the blood relatives hurt you the most (minus the Dozas). Instead, Kaz, Yeager, Tam, Neeku, CB-23 and the rest of the crew managed to find each other and choose each other as family.

And in true Star Wars fashion, that’s what saved them from the First Order. It was their willingness to fight for each other that helped them push through – and CB-23, who was the real hero of Star Wars Resistance.

They made it back to the Colossus but not before obliterating a First Order star destroyer in what felt like some scenes truly reminiscent of The Last Jedi.

While we didn’t catch up completely to The Rise of Skywalker because Kylo Ren was still Supreme Leader, the series wrapped up nicely.

It really is too bad we didn’t get more these characters because I would have enjoyed seeing what else they could have done together.

Next. Star Wars Resistance season 2 is finally what it should’ve been all along. dark
