Star Wars Character Deaths
General Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) in STAR WARS: EPISDOE IX /

Princess Leia Organa

Daughter of Padme and Anakin, sister to Luke, wife of Han, and mother to Ben–Leia really is the glue that holds everyone together. She certainly inherited her mother’s natural leadership abilities as well, becoming the leader of the Rebel forces as well as a Jedi, trained by Luke.

Leia managed to escape almost certain death once before in the latest Star Wars trilogy, her Rebel ship being blown to bits by her son Ben’s Empirical fleet. Leia used the forced to pull herself back into the remaining parts of the ship and was given immediate care by her Rebel squad.

But while the Force saved her life the first time, it was Force exertion that took it away the second time in Episode IX. After using the Force to help Rey save Ben’s life, Leia uses up her remaining life force and passes away. Other than the fact that Princess Leia was a beloved core character in so many Star Wars films, her and Luke being the foundation for the very plot, Leia’s death was a reminder that all good things must come to an end, with Leia being the last of the original trio to depart from the Star Wars universe.
