History has a way of repeating itself in Star Wars and plot points have a tendency to swing back around eventually. We only wish that didn’t involve the massacre of Younglings.

Here’s a detail of Luke and Ben’s relationship we chose to save until now. After Ben catches Luke about to kill him with a saber, Ben not only chooses to turn to the Dark Side, full speed ahead, he also decides to torch his uncle’s Jedi temple, killing all the Padawans and Jedi Younglings inside.

The second rendition of this sort of disaster goes to show that the more a Jedi Master keeps from his pupil, the more destruction they’re likely to see through. While there were no children shown this time around to pull at our heartstrings, it’s an act we’ve seen played out before. And we know exactly how horrifyingly sad these deaths were.
