The Ewoks

These poor teddy bears were just trying to live their best life in their own version of the hundred-acre woods and then, next thing they know, weapons from the Empire come blasting down on them out of nowhere.

Inhabiting the forest moon of Endor, Ewoks are hunters and gatherers who first show up in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi during Luke’s, Leia’s and Han’s final battle with the empire. The battle that rages in on the Ewoks forest kills many of these fuzzy creatures’ family and friends, the most emotional of these scenes taking place as Ewoks are running for their lives through the forest as blasters strike them down.

One Ewok desperately tries to “wake up” one of his friends who was hit by a blaster, blasting our hearts to shreds in the process.

While not all Star Wars fans are fans of the Ewoks, most children watching star wars loved the little creatures. A big reason the deaths of the Ewoks are heartbreaking is because it was likely the biggest heartbreak for all our real-life younglings who loved them so. We can only hope Disney+ might one day add the animated series starring the lovable creatures, which was a much happier time for the Ewoks.
