The 6 best original characters from The Clone Wars
By Nik Edlund
Captain Rex
As mentioned in the intro, one of the best things about The Clone Wars TV show was the fact it gave each clone its own personality. In the movies, the clones were basically mindless soldiers who did what they were ordered to do.
In the show, the idea to put a face to each and every single clone was genius. We learned that these clones weren’t just programmed weapons who obeyed orders, they had individual likes, beliefs, and opinions about the war and why they were fighting it.
No solider stood out more than Captain Rex. Not only was Rex one of the best soldiers to ever don a clone trooper helmet, but he was a loyal friend of Anakin Skywalker and more so Ahsoka Tano. Rex was a great leader to the clones who served below him, and unlike some of the Jedi generals, he actually cared about his men.
Rex not only served in the Clone Wars but lived on and helped out Ezra Bridger and the gang of the ghost in Star Wars Rebels. He even survived long enough to make a brief appearance in the Battle of Endor. Rex was arguably the best of all the clones of Jango Fett and was a noble and true hero of the Rebel Alliance.
