The Mandalorian Season 2 has wrapped filming and this character is back!
The Mandalorian Season 2 has wrapped filming. Even though we haven’t gotten a cast list, we know at least one character is back.
We still have more than six months to go until we get The Mandalorian’s second season, but filming has already wrapped up.
Gina Carano, who captured our hearts in the debut season as Cara Dune, posted on Instagram about the season wrapping up. While we presumed she would be back, there hasn’t been any official word until now.
Really, we only know that Din Djarin and The Child (better known as Baby Yoda) will be in the second season. It should go without saying that Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito’s character) will also be back given that amazing cliffhanger.

The rest is all up to speculation at this point.
But at least The Mandalorian is further ahead than the other Star Wars Disney+ original series. The Obi-Wan Kenobi and Cassian Andor series have yet to even start filming.
What I enjoyed about Cara Dune on The Mandalorian is that she breaks the mold on what female Star Wars characters have been like. She’s physically imposing and doesn’t have special Force abilities. While she can take care of herself, which we saw some of other favorite women of Star Wars, Cara Dune just felt a little different.
I can’t wait to see where her story goes in the second season. We did learn a bit about her character in the final few episodes, especially when we found out she was from Alderaan and the Empire was responsible for her planet being destroyed.
She’s a layered and nuanced character. Cara is not just hired muscle. I’m glad she’s back in The Mandalorian Season 2 and I look forward to seeing her they will develop her character further.
The Mandalorian Season 1 is currently streaming on Netflix.
