The digital download of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is available a few days early. It comes at a good time.
With the prospect that many people are going to be stuck inside their homes for the foreseeable future, Disney is moving up some digital releases up to potentially help make life indoors a little more bearable.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was supposed to be come out on digital download next week, but the movie was actually made available on Friday, according to Variety. Though this does not include Disney+.

The DVD and Blu-Ray release remains March 31.
To watch the movie now, you can download it from retailers such as Amazon or iTunes. It’s around $19.99 to own the digital version of the movie.
Along with The Rise of Skywalker, Disney also released Frozen 2 three months early on Disney+. With the global pandemic caused by COVID-19, many people have been asked to remain indoors to help stem the spread of the virus. For many people, this means a lot of TV watching, looking for ways to spend more time than anticipated indoors.
For Star Wars fans, even if The Rise of Skywalker isn’t on Disney+ yet that doesn’t mean they will go without. The rest of the Star Wars movies, animated series and first season of The Mandalorian are available on the streaming service.
