Bo-Katan Kryze

Bo-Katan Kryze was the sister of the Dutchess of Mandalore Satine Kryze. She has a bit of a checkered past. Instead of following her sister into politics and leadership she embraced the war rich history of Mandalore and joined the group Death Watch.

Death Watch was basically a terrorist cell that wanted to restore the warring heritage of Mandalore. The group was eventually exiled and Bo Katan-Kryze became second in command to its leader Pre Vizsla.

The group was determined in their mission and even worked side by side with the Sith at times. They eventually fell into cahoots with Darth Maul and his shadow collective until things went sour. Vizsla eventually turned on Maul and the two had a duel to the death. Maul won and not only became the heir to the Darksaber but also the new leader of Death Watch.

Bo-Katan Kryze failed to accept Maul’s rule and joined forces with her sister and nephew. After Satine’s death at the hands of Maul, Bo-Katan eventually was named regent of Mandalore. After another internal power struggle, she was eventually deemed worthy of the Darksaber and became the leader of Mandalore.

Being that she was the last bearer of the Darksaber, her inclusion in season two of The Mandalorian seems very likely. It would probably be in a flashback scene as we learn how Moff Gideon attained the ancient and legendary weapon. This will likely result in the reveal of Bo-Katan’s death but at least her long-running arc would come to a close.

As far as who would portray Katan Kryze on the screen, how about none other than Jodie Foster. She is a big name but could be willing to do a one or two episode cameo. With her short blond hair and fierce, narrow eyes she’d make a great Bo-Katan Kryze.
