Hondo Ohnaka

Hondo Ohnaka was one of the most fun characters introduced in The Clone Wars. He’s an easy-going pirate whose only true allegiance is to money and profit. He’s extremely slippery and always seems to get himself out of situations, whether it is with the Jedi or the Sith.

He crossed paths with Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka many times during the Clone Wars and formed a lukewarm alliance with them.

Hondo made appearances in Star Wars Rebels and formed a close bond with Ezra Bridger. As far as anyone knows he’s still alive at the time of The Mandalorian. Being a guy who is always looking for the next big payoff, seeing him come face-to-face with a bounty hunter like Mando would make a lot of sense. Knowing Hondo, he’d probably realize the value Baby Yoda has and then would try to swindle him away from Mando and sell him to the Imperials for a big chunk of change.

No matter what the scenario would be Hondo would fit in pretty seamlessly and would make fans very happy seeing this pirate in live-action.

There’s one actor that comes to mind when envisioning a live-action version of Hondo and that is Jim Carrey. He has a similar body type and could pull of Ohnaka’s charm, and wit, while also showing his sly, and money-grabbing nature. He’d be the perfect actor to encapsulate Ohnaka’s mixture of sleaze and charm.
