Who would Star Wars fans want to see next at Disney’s Galaxy’s Edge. We asked fans on social media for their picks.

With the Star Wars universe constantly expanding I couldn’t help but wonder what direction Disney’s Galaxy’s Edge will continue to take.

Guests to the Star Wars-themed park can find First Order Troopers walking about and more often than not, Kylo Ren searching for Rey and her friends. But I wanted to know which Star Wars characters fans would like to see at the park.

More from Disney

We asked fans on our Dork Side of the Force Facebook page, and the results, while scattered were clear: original trilogy characters and the cast of Star Wars Rebels.

Original trilogy characters include: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke, Boba Fett, Lando Calrissian, and Ewoks.

One could argue, blending the original trilogy characters in a park with the likes of Rey and Kylo Ren shouldn’t be an issue. After all children can participate in the Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple where they use what they learned to battle both Darth Vader and Kylo Ren.

However, there is a difference between exploring a Star Wars park heavily inspired by the most recent films and a Star Wars-themed show. For some, being able to aid Rey and Chewbacca while Kylo Ren searches for them with the chances of passing a young Han Solo can be confusing and jarring.

Visitors wouldn’t be entering Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom and find a pirate from Adventureland walking around. In my opinion, that means Galaxy’s Edge will not be any different.

So what’s the solution? One solution could be meet and greets like the ones at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Star Wars Launch Bay.

This will give visitors a chance to meet their heroes away from Galaxy’s Edge.

Another idea could be to have a ride or show that centers around the original characters. At certain times of the day, all other characters could be out of sight so that the original characters are free to move about.

The Star Wars Rebels characters mentioned in the comments include: Ezra, Ahsoka, Sabine and Hondo.

Like the original trilogy characters, it would be nice for visitors to meet and greet some of the Star Wars Rebels characters.

A great way to immerse them into Galaxy’s Edge would be to have a show. This can be as elaborate as reenacting an episode from the show or simply something new that will need volunteers from the audience.

During the show all other characters should be absent at the park or at least reserved to certain sections.

Galaxy’s Edge is a fairly new park at Disney and there is no doubt that over time it will include more characters, rides, and attractions. Maybe one day visitors will see the likes of Obi-Wan Kenobi or Ashoka Tano.
