Star Wars planets that should be revisited
By Thomas Gore
Exegol
The Rise of Skywalker started to finally explore the enigmatic history of Sith in some length. Exegol, for now, seems to be the newest dark side center of the Star Wars universe. In The Rise of Skywalker, the hidden planet served as a secret hide out for Emperor Palpatine and a few thousand of his Sith cultist friends.
It also doubled as a secret military base for the Emperor’s newest military industrial fleet, the Final Order. When Kylo Ren first lands on Exegol, he enters some sort of mysterious temple that looks to be quite ancient and features giant statues that may or may not be Sith Lords of the past.
After the battle of Exegol, it seems that peace has been restored to the galaxy, at least for now. Yet, the mystery of the secret world is too tantalizing to ignore. The existence of the planet itself beckons to be explored. This would be a fantastic planet to explore in Project Luminous’ High Republic era of Star Wars.
Much of what fans know about the history of the Sith is from Legends or very minor references. Exegol could answer many of the questions about the canon history of the galaxy’s most evil force users.
