Cliegg Lars

The most interesting thing about Cliegg Lars is that he has no legs. He’s pretty much the first character in Star Wars that we see with a visible handicap and uses what amounts to a speeder wheelchair hybrid. Cliegg is an old moisture farmer from Tatooine and that’s what his show would be about. Perhaps there could be some fun encounters with Jawas and battles with Sand People, but after a few episodes material could be hard to come by.

There could be an arc about how he meets Shmi and ends up falling in love with her. What about this rough moisture farmer caught the eye of the matriarch of the Skywalker family? How did he win her over?

The best part about the show would be more screen time with Watto. We could see how desperate he got to sell one of his only remaining assets in Shmi. The Toydarian was one of the best parts about The Phantom Menace and getting reunited with him would be something that many fans would enjoy.

A Cliegg Lars series would definitely not be the most exciting character to build a show around. That being said, at least his show could give us some new material and provide existing background details on characters like Watto, Shmi, Owen, and Beru. Cassian Andor’s series won’t do that, and it being set in an already deeply explored era could make fans wish they were watching the everyday workings of this moisture farmer.
