Joe Burrow, projected No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft, is also a big Star Wars fan

The Star Wars fandom is one of the most passionate around and can count LSU Tigers Quarterback Joe Burrow among its ranks.
Joe Burrow is a lot of things. Heisman Trophy winner. National Championship winner. Projected No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
In addition to being an incredible athlete, Burrow also happens to be a member of one of the greatest and most passionate fandoms around: the Star Wars fandom!
Like many fans, Joe Burrow’s love of Star Wars dates back to his formative years and, like many Star Wars fans, he’s never been afraid to embrace and display his fandom pride.
Speaking with FanSided about the projected No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft, Joe Burrow’s former physics teacher Chad Springer, who now serves a principal at Athens High School, fondly recalls Burrow’s love of Star Wars. As Springer revealed, Burrow and his friends loved Star Wars so much during their high school years, they once used the franchise as inspiration for a school project:
"“I saw him as a great athlete and a great scholar. To see him go this far… I still picture him in my class at that front table with his friends playing on LEGOS building their project that had a Star Wars theme to this day.”"
While attending opening weekends and donning Star Wars attire is a fun way to show your fandom love, using one’s fandom to build a school project around is a whole other level of fandom! After all, it takes a truly dedicated Star Wars fan to get the details right and the fact that Burrow’s former teacher still recalls the project all these years later seems to speak for just how memorable Burrow’s Star Wars project was.
Not only is Burrow a Star Wars fan, but he’s also a great representative of the fandom, displaying the many type of qualities we can only hope to see displayed by fans. As Springer recalled of his time as Burrrow’s teacher, the projected No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft has always displayed a sense of togetherness – something we can always love seeing in the Star Wars fandom.
"“It was a lot of fun [being Joe’s teacher]. He was just amazing. The whole class was unique. They were just eclectic,” Springer recalled. “They did everything together no matter who they were, what sport they played. Extremely brilliant, intelligent and a lot of fun to have.”"
Be sure to catch the 2020 NFL Draft Thursday, April 22 at 8/7c on ABC to see if Star Wars fan Joe Burrow is selected first overall by the Cincinnati Bengals!
