Dominic Monaghan

Dominic Monaghan is best known for his work in the Lord of the Rings films. He played the mischievous hobbit Merry Brandybuck and throughout those films goes from a screw-up to becoming someone who begins to see the bigger picture in the world and finds the strength and honor to fight for a safe and secure future. He’s also well known for his role as Charlie Pace in the show Lost.

He recently, however, got his feet wet in the Star Wars universe appearing as Beaumont Kin in the final film of the saga, The Rise of Skywalker. Dominic is only in the film for a handful of scenes and plays a Resistance fighter who seems fairly high up in the ranks as he interacts with Rose Tico, Finn, and a little with Poe.

He’s one of those characters who when watching the film, you may recognize his face but not immediately be able to place it. He really doesn’t do a whole lot in the movie.

Monaghan got his role from being buds with director J.J. Abrams. He called Monaghan and said he may have a role for him and it was his if England beat Colombia in soccer. England ended up winning in a shootout, and Monaghan got the role and fulfilled his dream of appearing in a Star Wars film.
