Taika Waititi has already had his hands in the Star Wars universe with The Mandalorian. With a full length Star Wars film helmed by Waititi on the way, the possibilities are endless for his newest chapter in the saga.
StarWars.com announced this week Taika Waititi will direct and co-write a feature length Star Wars film. Waititi has been one of the hottest names in Hollywood over the past half decade culminating in an Oscar for his screenplay of 2019’s Jojo Rabbit.
The details about this film are unclear. It has not yet been specified whether the film will be a single installment or the beginning of a new saga altogether. Regardless of the content, Waititi’s reputation speaks for itself both in the Star Wars universe and beyond.
With the recent conclusion of the Skywalker saga, the possibilities are endless for Waitit’s new film. For a franchise that has been around for over 40 years, there are corners of the galaxy that have endless untold stories just waiting to be told. This new film could explore any era before, during or after the Skywalker saga. This could be unchartered territory for Star Wars but with Waititi at the helm, the story is likely to be a hit among fans of all ages.
