Marriage Story

Just as the hype was starting for The Rise of Skywalker, there was another movie Adam Driver was doing press tours for. Driver promoted Marriage Story, which is not as fun sounding as the title.

The movie looks at the marriage between Charlie (Driver) and Nicole Barber (Scarlett Johansson). While they love each other, their marriage is falling apart. The movie is about navigating through all ups and downs of their divorce.

Sometimes even when people love a person, they can’t make it work. Marriage Story is as much about love – including that of a child – as it about falling out of it.

The movie was a critical success, getting high reviews and praise.

It also received six Academy Award nominations, including one for Driver. He didn’t win, but with his current trajectory, it’s probably not the last.
