Mark Hamill tweeted about the movie and the iconic line today. Revealing to fans how only himself, Irvin Kershner, and George Lucas knew of what Vader would reveal to the young, missing a certain hand, Luke.

The cast did not find out the truth themselves until they saw the finished film for themselves in theater. Meaning Mark Hamill had to sit on this massive secret and not talk about it for over a year. Something he described as agony, but full props to the Star Wars legend for managing it.
Mark Hamill has dropped this Star Wars nugget before
Hamill has spoken about this before, so some of you may have known this already. Back in 2017 he revealed this fact while appearing on the Graham Norton show. Not everyone would have seen this however and with the 40th anniversary of the movie this year it is only fitting to bring it up again.
