Star Wars character No. 2: Ahsoka Tano

Ahsoka Tano appeared in the pretty awful The Clone Wars film. That movie wasn’t great and Ahsoka Tano’s debut was part of the problem. Anakin Skywalker’s new padawan was a spunky, mouthy, and annoying little Togruta. The nickname she gave Anakin of “Skyguy” seemed forced and if she was supposed to be funny, she was anything but.

Something strange happened as The Clone Wars series progressed. As Ahsoka grew in the Force and in age, the spunkiness was replaced with a little more seriousness and she started becoming a character we rooted for. She was extremely compassionate with her interactions with others, and always did what was right. Ahsoka was also a powerful Force user who was extremely proficient in battle. She formed a great friendship with Clone Commander Rex and their bond was one of the strengths of the show.

Ahsoka continued to grow throughout the show and even more when she appeared in Star Wars Rebels. We learn she was a major force in the formation of the Rebel Alliance and had even battled Darth Vader at one point. Ahsoka Tano went from being an annoying side character in her film debut to one of the most beloved characters in all of Star Wars and it was her time in The Clone Wars and Rebels that made this happen.
