Star Wars side character No. 2 — Dexter Jettster

One of the more lighthearted scenes in Attack of the Clones is when Obi-Wan goes to a greasy diner that looks right out of the 1950s, to get some answers about the mysterious dart he pulled out of now-deceased bounty hunter Zam Wessel.

He is there to meet his longtime friend Dexter Jettster who is the owner and cook of this greasy spoon. After greeting his friend with a hearty “Well Whaddya Know?” Dexter comes out and squeezes his large and robust body into the booth that Obi-Wan is sitting in. Dexter speaks in a booming voice and there is apparently much more to this big Besalisk than just a short order cook and owner of a small business.

Dexter is easily able to identify the dart and lets Obi-Wan know it is from the “cloners” on Kamino. He then gives Obi-Wan a hard time about knowing the difference between wisdom and knowledge.

Dexter and his diner is a fun addition to the world of Star Wars. His brief appearance leaves us wanting more, as we want to know how he’s acquired all this information about weapons and how he became such good friends with a Jedi like Obi-Wan Kenobi.
