Star Wars side character No. 4 — Boba Fett

Boba Fett created a ton of interest and excitement with his brief appearance in The Empire Strikes Back. He had a very cool look to him. He wore battle-scarred armor and had one of the coolest looking helmets we had ever seen. Fett also had a jet pack and was singled out by Darth Vader and was warned there were to be no disintegrations.

Boba Fett also had a sweet ship that flew vertically and was the only bounty hunter who was able to track The Millennium Falcon to Bespin. At the end of the film, Fett got his prize and brought a frozen in carbonite Han Solo to Jabba the Hut.

After his wee part in Episode V, fans had all kinds of theories as to who this mysterious bounty hunter actually was, with one of the wildest suggesting he was actually a woman and the mother of Luke and Leia. When he met an accidental death in Return of the Jedi at the hands of Han Solo, many fans felt jaded and let down by the characters untimely end.

Unfortunately for Fett, we’ve learned more about him over the years, and he’s become much less interesting. Apparently, he’s an unaltered clone of Jango Fett and not even a real Mandalorian. Fett is rumored to appear in the new season of The Mandalorian so perhaps we’ll get a better back story for this once mysterious and interesting side character.
