With season two of The Mandalorian on the horizon, Twitter sparring between Sasha Banks and Gina Carano could be a sign of Banks’ character in the show.

At this point, we don’t have an official release date for season two of The Mandalorian. One recent report indicated we could see it on Disney Plus as soon as October, but that’s yet to be confirmed.

One of many big questions heading into the next chapter of the series is where WWE Raw Women’s Champion Sasha Banks will fit in as a character. Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet initially reported Banks’ involvement in the Disney Plus show all the way back in February.

Since then, in classic Star Wars fashion, there’s been little to no indication of exactly where we’ll see Sasha Banks in The Mandalorian or what kind of character she could be playing. However, a recent Twitter bout between Banks and fellow Mandalorian star could point to Banks being a foil to Carano’s Cara Dune in season two.

Gina Carano sparked the discussion by quote tweeting a clip from the most recent episode of WWE Raw in which WWE superstar Shayna Baszler clocked Sasha Banks with a stiff right hand. It’s not surprising that Carano would be fans of each, as we know she’ll have worked with Banks in The Mandalorian, and Baszler shares an MMA background with Carano.

While there’s some speculation about Carano eventually stepping into a WWE ring, as she certainly wouldn’t be the first MMA star to make that leap, it’s more likely she’s building anticipation for season two of The Mandalorian. We just might see Banks and Carano square off, but it could be in the Star Wars Universe rather than the WWE Universe.

Of course, another actor from the show joined the fray before long, with Katee Sackhoff seemingly not wanting to be left out. Sackoff will appear in The Mandalorian as Bo-Katan Kryze, the same character she played in The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.

While this is the first time we’ve seen Sasha Banks branch into acting outside of the world of professional wrestling, she’s no stranger to playing the villain inside WWE. Seeing Banks and Carano pitted against one another would be fascinating for the story of The Mandalorian, but it could also lead to some truly unforgettable fight scenes.

And who knows? If Gina Carano’s Cara Dune gets the upper hand on The Mandalorian, maybe Sasha Banks will try to drag Carano into her own world looking for her own kind of comeuppance.
