While COVID-19 has led many shows to be delayed, it has been confirmed The Mandalorian Season 2 of the Star Wars Disney+ series will not be among them.

With the world still left in a state of flux due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Star Wars fans have been speculating whether or not the release of The Mandalorian Season 2 will be delayed.

The first season premiered back in November of 2019 along with the launch of Disney Plus and was a massive hit among Star Wars fans. The series was quickly renewed and began production for a second season before the first finished airing.

Initially, the second season of The Mandalorian was slated to debut on Disney+ in the fall of 2020. However, back in March of this year, the world came to a screeching halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and with it, a delay of many upcoming movies and shows.

With the United States being locked down for nearly six months now and many delays having been announced and releases pushed back indefinitely, fans have begun to speculate if The Mandalorian will meet it’s Fall 2020 release.

Last week, Disney CEO Bob Chapek confirmed that despite the COVID Outbreak, Season 2 will air on Disney Plus this October and that filming had completed months ago.

For those who watched Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian on Disney Plus, it was shown how Season One was created on a closed set with a mainly computer-rendered background, so it was certainly possible to safely film the second season with minimal people on set.

As for when Star Wars fans may get the first look at what to expect in The Mandalorian Season 2, it is speculated that the first trailer will likely drop sometime this month in late August.

Season One of The Mandalorian is currently streaming on Disney Plus.
