With Season 2 of  Star Wars: The Mandalorian set to be released 2 months from now in October, the next trailer can be expected to drop this week.

Last year, Star Wars fans fell in love with the first-ever live-action Star Wars series when the first season of The Mandalorian aired along with the launch of Disney Plus.

The series was critically praised by both fans and critics and was Disney Plus’s most-watched show, and with its success and cliffhanger ending, many Star Wars fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Season 2.

While there were some initial concerns regarding if Season 2 would be delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak,  Disney CEO Bob Chapek recently confirmed that the next season was finished filming months ago and is still set to begin airing this October.

With the season premiere now just two months away, fans have been speculating when the first trailer will be released so fans can get a taste of what to expect. Based on new rumors and Disney’s track record, it seems safe to assume we can expect the first Trailer to be released sometime this coming week.

As Star Wars Celebration was originally scheduled to take place from Aug. 18 – Aug. 21 prior to its cancellation, many fans anticipated we would get our first look at the next season, similar to how the Season 1 trailer was released at the D23 Expo on Aug. 23 of 2019.

Seeing as SWC was canceled but the trailer was likely scheduled to have been completed by this time of the year, rumors are circulating that the trailer has been scheduled to first air during one of this weekend’s NBA playoff games.

The most likely scenario is that the trailer will be shown at halftime during one of the Prime Time games taking place on Saturday, either during the Rockets vs Thunder game at 6 PM (EST) on ESPN, or the Lakers vs Trail Blazers game at 8:30 PM (EST) on ABC, both of which are channels owned by Disney.

For those of you who do not want to sit through a basketball game just to see the trailer, after airing on television, you can expect it to be posted online immediately following its initial airing.
