The Mandalorian is coming, and his crew will be right along with him.

While it is not a trailer, today gave us our very first in-depth look at the newest season of The Mandalorian, hitting Disney + on October 30, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly. Along with quotes from the cast, filming details and loads of other nuggets for fans, we also received some photos from the upcoming season.

They may not tell us much, but here are just a few things we can learn from this first batch of photos, and we’re already scratching our heads trying to piece together the rest.

1. Baby Yoda is back and better than ever

After stealing the show in season one, Baby Yoda, or formally titled “The Child,” will take an even bigger focus this season. We see The Child in all his glory in a close-up that graces the EW cover. We also see that Djin has a neat little bag to hold him as well, indicating the two won’t be splitting up anytime soon considering his importance to the galaxy.

We also get a look at them casually hanging out together, another example that the bond has only gotten stronger. Say hello to the newest parent-child combo.

2. The gang’s all here

The Mandalorian will not be protecting the child on his own, though, as we also see just a few of the friends helping him along the way. We’ll have to wait and see what casting rumors come true, but Cara Dune returns as the muscle of the team, now a member of the Bounty Hunter’s Guild. After making amends with the Mandalorian, Greef Karga has joined forces with his former foe, with a new beard to boast too.

Karga’s aged appearance, along with a slight increase in The Child’s size, gives us the indication that there may be a passage of time this season. That comes despite Pedro Pascal’s comment that “We start very directly after the first [season]…” So, yes, we are already asking questions.

3. Moff Gideon means business

Aside from The Child, one of the most intriguing storylines comes through apparent adversary, Moff Gideon. After arriving with a fleet of soldiers in the post-Empire days and revealing the coveted Darksaber, many are wondering just what exactly Gideon’s motives are.

Giancarlo Esposito’s comments only raised more questions for us, but our latest look at the character shows him in his Imperial attire once again, ready to take back The Child. It may be a bit of a reach, but the colors of the background also look eerily similar to the interior of a Star Destroyer, indicating the Empire is very much alive.

4. We’re going back to Tatooine

The fan-favorite Tusken Raiders made a brief appearance in season one, and it looks like we will see a bit more of them this time around, along with the trusty Bantha.

It also means we will be making a return to the beloved Tatooine. In the episode entitled “The Gunslinger,” The Mandalorian landed on Tatooine and crossed paths with Toro Calican, a fellow bounty hunter. The duo went after notorious mercenary Fennec Shand and seemingly took care of business.

However, the curious ending of a silhouette approaching Shand’s body implied that her story was not done yet, and this photo suggests just that. It also raises our eyes to the rumor of a particular bounty hunter making a return from the Sarlacc Pit

Those are all the biggest things from Entertainment Weekly’s feature. Think we missed anything? Let us know! Either way, we’re all just counting down the days until a trailer.
