The Mandalorian season 2 trailer: Ranking every Baby Yoda moment

The Mandalorian season 2 trailer did not disappoint in providing Star Wars fans with several new Baby Yoda moments. 

The wait is officially over! Although many anticipated the first full-length trailer for The Mandalorian season 2 to drop during one of ABC’s NBA playoff games, Disney surprised fans with an exciting new trailer the morning of Sept. 15 — exactly a month and a half before season 2 is set to drop on Disney+.

In the trailer, fans are treated to their first glimpses at the upcoming second season of Disney+’s Emmy-nominated drama. It quickly becomes clear the focus of season 2 will be on the growing bond between the Mandalorian and the Child, with the trailer offering up a look at Mando’s efforts to reunite his little green companion with the rest of his kind.

5. Mando and Baby Yoda descend from the shadows as a new adventure begins

As the trailer begins, we see our favorite Mandalorian and his adorable sidekick emerge from the shadows embarking on the next step in their journey. While brief, the moment was the perfect way to kick off the trailer while signifying the relationship between the two characters will be the core focus in The Mandalorian season 2.

4. Even Baby Yoda doesn’t seem to be a fan of winter 

Cutting to an icy world which gives us serious The Empire Strikes Back Hoth vibes, Baby Yoda pensively stares out into the distance while standing upon the fluffy snow beneath him. We’re not sure what might have our favorite little dude looking so downhearted, but it definitely seems he is not a fan of the cold!

3. The Mandalorian season 2 trailer proves Baby Yoda is as still as curious as ever before

If there’s one thing that is evident from the newly released trailer, it’s that the Child is still just as curious as he was when we met him in season 1. Throughout various moments within the trailer, Baby Yoda looks around awestruck and curious by his surroundings all from the comfort of his signature carriage.

From the adorable shots of the Child taking in the marketplace where he and Mando encounter a mysterious figure to his look of enjoyment while on what appears to be a cargo ship of some sort, we’re quickly reminded of the character’s childlike innocence which we love dearly.

2. “Wherever I go, he goes.” 

Of course, one of the standout moments from the trailer is a line from the Mandalorian himself in which he makes it clear he and the Child are now inseparable. Way to pull at our heartstrings Disney.

1. Baby Yoda hiding in his carriage as Mando prepares to fight is the most relatable moment of 2020. 

Without any doubt, the Baby Yoda moment that has stolen the show and already become a viral sensation comes in the closing moments of the trailer.

In the scene, Mando and the Child enter an establishment which seems to be some sort of fight club. After exchanging words with some of the patrons, Mando prepares to do battle which leads to the trailer’s most talked-about scene. Clearing seeing Mando is about to engage in battle, Baby Yoda quickly springs into action… by taking cover in his carriage.

The moment was the perfect way to end the trailer on a light and humorous moment! Honestly, Baby Yoda taking note of the chaos about to ensue around him and quickly hiding away is a mood we can all relate to in 2020!
